Weekly Listener Poll

“Do you think this new, more compact, version of formations will prompt you to make use of them more often in list building?”

  1. The blood angels ones are real nice in that you can fit them in depending on points levels. They also encourage you to take units that you might not otherwise. To me, that is a nice little bonus. I still think the community should be inundating gw with mail to provide codices with relative internal and external balance not just about prices. No matter the list, a player should have a reasonably fair chance of winning, not just having to buy up whatever gw wants to sell more units (looking at you, archangels sanguine wing~ buy up 6 boxes of veterans to get all free upgrades). Also, love the show and thought the vanillification of blood angels episode was the best of all the 40k podcasts regarding the ba codex.

  2. The new layout of the formations in the book was somewhat confusing at first but after i understood it i quite liked them. They remind me of Planetfall’s helix setup, which is a list building system i quite enjoy. If this became the normal way you built lists in 40k then that would be a step in the right direction.

I don’t know how they will stack up to the standard Force Org way or building lists and would need to see other armies formations until i could say one way or the other. Its a new approach which is good thing to see, too many of the recent 40k codexs have had very little to nothing new in them and this new way of organizing formations is something new
