With regard to “bland” codex releases. I think it comes down to a very simple problem: they are overextended. They may be the giant of the industry, but that perception tends to obscure the fact that they are still a very small company with a very small staff, and a HUGE amount of creative work to be done. I think they want to get everything up and “current”, but doing so is forcing them to give only cursory updates to many books at this point given their vastly accelerated release schedule. I suppose the real reasoning *could* be something more sinister, but I’m inclined to think it’s just a plain old manpower issue.
Really good episode guys. I’ve been on the fence about starting a fantasy army for a while now. I think wood elves are finally my excuse to start.
You guys hit the mark with your remarks about current state of 40k, tournaments, money grabs, love of the game, and the new edition. I haven’t heard another podcast that I sole wholeheartedly agree with.
Great podcast as always.
