  1. My name is James and I’m one of the organizers of the tournament in February, the Tournament of Champyons.

I’d just like to clear something up that you got wrong in your podcast. The Tournament in February is NOT a Storm of magic tournament, and the scenarios are all custom written and playtested. Not rulebook scenarios as you stated.

I’m actually not a huge fan of the actual Storm of Magic gameplay myself, I find it a little too random to be able to use any real strategy beyond, 1) Kill Wizards 2) take fulcrum

Which is why we took the part we LIKE (having big gribbly monsters) and left out the parts we didn’t.

I think it allows people who like to PROGRESS with their hobby to expand the possibilities a little and include things that they might not otherwise have access to. How many people do you know develop a 2500 point army, for argument’s sake, and then STOP? Not many. And are those people really enjoying the hobby?

I think more realistically they are not too put out to have to paint one or two monsters for a tournament. (Or borrow them from that guy who has a hundred or so sitting in his basement!)

It’s too bad we won’t see you there, I think it would be good for you to actually PLAY A GAME of this system before you continue bad-mouthing it. 🙂
