  1. Hey, it’s Mike from Warp III. Just listened to all three last night while painting. I can’t remember which episode it was on, but you guys were talking about miscasts. Double 6 won’t come up more than double 1, statistically spaeaking, that’s true; however, with more dice being allowed per spell attempt, it makes sense if more double 6 rolls are coming up, and therefore miscasts are happening more often. The odds of doubles on 1 die is zero, on two it’s higher, on three it’s higher than on two, and so on, right?

That said, it’s an acceptible risk when you’re using magic if you ask me. Magic should be good, but risky, and I think they’ve done a great job representing that in 8th.

Can’t agree with you more about the etc bullsh*t! However, I never really play in tournaments, so I’m not all that bothered by it. I also agree that 8th edition is 98% perfect. I personally think it’s the best game they’ve made to date. Previously I might have said Gothic or Warmaster for tight rules, and Mordheim for sheer fun.

I also agree that the whole net list thing is retarded. Whenever I hear of these named lists it just leaves me baffled. I prefer to build my lists around troops that I think are cool, and usually have a theme based on the background. However, I don’t think forums are all bad. I just avoid the rules and tactics sections. The painting, stories, and rumours are usually interesting, rumours being the most likely to devolve into wishlisting, arguments, etc. All that said, you don’t have to like forums, of course, and I’m not trying to convince you they’re good, cause I agree the majority of them suck.

Anyways, I’ll be telling people about the podcast, and I hope you get more listeners.
